KUALA LUMPUR: UMW Toyota Motor recently rewarded its most skillful after-sales personnel following an annual skills contest.
The grand finals of Toyota Skills Contest 2013 on September 22 saw 75 finalists competing to be honoured as champions in their respective categories.
Overall, more than 1,000 employees from 72 Toyota outlets participated in the regional-level contests.
"Professionalism, skills and teamwork ensure that we listen to customers' requests and complaints accurately, diagnose and ensure repairs are done right in the shortest possible period, and ensure customers leave our service centres happy and satisfied.
"If our customers are consistently happy and satisfied with our services, they will over time become our customers for life," said UMW Toyota president Datuk Ismet Suki.
The skill contest is a significant event to promote continuous learning and skills enhancement among after sales staff, he added.
The contest offered 12 categories for after-sales staff, encompassing every job function that will eventually influence customers' experience - from the time the customer calls to make an appointment to the time he takes delivery of his vehicle and after-sale services.
The contest has been held annually for the last 23 years.
