Hong Kong: Up on robust China data
SHARES rose 0.99 per cent yesterday, adding to the previous day's advance, after a rally on Wall Street and another batch of upbeat economic data out of China.
The benchmark Hang Seng Index added 226 points to 22,976.65.
The gains add to upbeat trade figures at the weekend that indicate a slowdown in the world's number two economy at the start of this year may have come to an end.
Shares in China Mobile rose 2.03 per cent to HKD$87.85, while Minsheng Bank climbed 3.24 per cent to HKD$9.55. AFP
