Eversendai expects to win more projects in Azerbaijan
KUALA LUMPUR: Structural steel turnkey and power plant contractor Eversendai Corp says it is likely to win three more projects in Azerbaijan, which will also mark its foray into the Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS).
This is hot on the heels of the US$28.5 million (RM88.3 million) Crescent City project in Baku that it secured on Monday.
It has already placed a bid for one of the projects, said executive chairman Datuk AK Nathan.
Azerbaijan will enable Eversendai to gain entry into the CIS markets where opportunities in the oil and gas sector abound.
"With our strong presence in the Middle East, Azerbaijan fits in well ... we have to keep expanding our business in new markets for the company to enjoy organic growth," he said.
He was speaking after a signing ceremony with Standard Chartered Bank for its first Islamic debt securities.
