KUALA LUMPUR: HSBC Amanah Malaysia Bhd has opened its second branch in Penang, rounding up its network to 16 branches nationwide.
"Penang always holds a sentimental value to HSBC as this was where the company opened its very first local office back in 1884," its chief executive officer Rafe Haneef said.
In a statement release yesterday, Rafe said the new branch in Tanjong Tokong has been enjoying good response since it started operations earlier this month.
"The new Tanjong Tokong branch is strategically located, making it ideal to reach out and serve individual and corporate customers better," he said.
The branch offers an array of syariah-compliant financial solutions comprising retail banking, wealth management as well as commercial banking.
