KUALA LUMPUR: Media Prima Bhd, Malaysia's largest fully integrated media group, has announced three key appointments.
Effective today, Datuk Kamal Khalid is chief operating officer for Group Shared Services, Ahmad Izham Omar is promoted to chief executive officer of Television Networks and Shareen Ooi has been made group chief marketing officer.
Kamal joined the group in May 2009 as COO of Media Prima International. In his new role as COO for Group Shared Services of Media Prima Bhd, he will oversee business development, engineering services, airtime management, research, stakeholder management and regulatory affairs, group corporate communications, content acquisition and pay channels.
Izham brings extensive experience to the job - he was appointed CEO of 8TV in August 2003, CEO of Radio Networks in 2006 and CEO of New Media in 2009. In 2011, he was appointed COO of Television Networks and CEO of Primeworks Studios. In his new role as CEO of Television Networks, he will lead and oversee Media Prima's four free-to-air stations, namely TV3, 8TV, ntv7 and TV9.
Ooi joined the marketing department of TV3 in May 1985. Her new role as group chief marketing officer of Media Prima involves overseeing and coordinating integrated marketing and group sales. She will relinquish her role as chief marketing officer of TV Networks.
Lam Swee Kim, the current head of Integrated Marketing, will now focus on expanding the group's digital business in her existing capacity as group general manager of MPB Digital.
