KUALA LUMPUR: Malayan Banking Bhd yesterday named Taswin Zakaria as the president director of its subsidiary, Bank Internasional Indonesia (BII).
Taswin, an Indonesian, replaces Datuk Khairussaleh Ramli, who is rumoured to be joining RHB Capi-tal Bhd as deputy chief executive officer.
Taswin has served BII as an independent member of the board of commissioners since 2004.
The 45-year-old also has vast experience in the banking industry.
He was previously with Barclays Bank Plc, Deustche Bank AG and Citibank.
Maybank chairman and BII president commissioner Tan Sri Megat Zaharuddin said the appointment reflects its commitment to utilise talent pool in the markets where it operates.
Group president and chief executive officer Datuk Abdul Farid Alias said Taswin's banking expertise and experience will accelerate Maybank's regionalisation journey.
