Hong Kong: Index ends 1.06pc higher
STOCKS ended 1.06 per cent higher yesterday after data showed China's economic growth picked up for the first time this year in the third quarter.
The benchmark Hang Seng Index rose 245.22 points to 23,340.10 on turnover of HK$61.27 billion.
In the index, Lenovo fell 1.71 per cent to HK$8.07 after The Wall Street Journal reported the company is considering a bid for Blackberry and AIA rose 4.4 per cent to HK$40.05.
Meanwhile, media firms rebounded after recent losses with the Zhejiang Daily up 6.09 per cent at 39.37 yuan. Agencies
