Hong Kong: Key index 0.13pc higher
SHARES finished 0.13 per cent higher yesterday following a two-day losing streak, although gains were limited by concerns over a United States budget stand-off.
The key index was flat in the afternoon. Later, the benchmark Hang Seng Index appreciated by 30.59 points to close at 23,209.63 points on turnover of HK$52.43 billion.
In the meantime, Chinese shares closed 0.41 per cent lower. The key Shanghai Composite Index depreciated by or 9.02 points to end the day's trade at 2,198.52 on turnover of 143.8 billion yuan. AFP
