Europe: Stocks stable
LONDON: Europe's main stock markets steadied yesterday as cautious investors awaited September's delayed non-farm payrolls report in the United States, dealers said.
London's benchmark FTSE 100 index of top companies gained 0.26 per cent to 6,671.72 points nearing midday deals. Frankfurt's DAX 30 was flat at 8,867.43 points, while Paris' CAC 40 index added just 0.01 per cent to 4,277.66 compared with Monday's closing levels.
"Investors continue to act with caution ahead of the release of September's jobs report, which is scheduled to be released this afternoon," said Alpari analyst Craig Erlam.
In the meantime, Europe's FTSEurofirst 300 pared gains after the United States data, and was last up 0.3 per cent at 1,285.11 points. Agencies
