KUALA LUMPUR: Proton Holdings Bhd has launched a new contest to create more excitement and visibility of the Proton brand.
Called "Pandu & Menang", it will run for 60 days and ends on December 17.
"The contest is part of Proton's initiative to acknowledge the support we have received from not only our customers, but more importantly, Malaysians as a whole," said its deputy chief executive officer Datuk Lukman Ibrahim.
"This is also an interesting way for us to invite the public to test drive and experience a Proton car for themselves."
Winners stand the chance to win daily and weekly prizes that include a 42-inch LED TV, electrical gadgets and cash prizes throughout the duration of the contest, which are worth more than RM400,000.
The grand prize winner selected at the end of the contest will win a limited edition Proton Preve LE family sedan, which was unveiled at the launch last week.
To enter the contest, simply head over to a Proton showroom to test drive any Proton model and fill in the test drive form.
The contest is divided into two categories - one via SMS, where participants will need to answer two questions correctly and respond in the fastest time to win the daily prizes.
The other invites participants to take a creative picture with the test-driven Proton car and upload it on Facebook, which will put them in the running to win weekly prizes.
However, only the SMS contest participants who placed a booking and registered his or her car within the contest period will be eligible to win the grand prize.
The car has a limited production number of 100 units and is only available in Solid White.
Additions to the car include an all-new body kit, leather seats, 17-inch rims and a 5-Star ANCAP package with six airbags.
"Since the launch of the Proton Preve last year, Malaysians have seen for themselves the kind of commitment we have made towards improving the overall quality of our cars, as we remain steadfast to our philosophy of offering Malaysians quality products with a high level of safety and value-for money.
"The Proton Preve LE is a way for us to say 'thank you' to all of our customers for their support to the Proton brand," Lukman said.
The Proton Preve LE is priced from RM79,688.00 on-the-road (Peninsular Malaysia).
