Mitsubishi expects new SUVs to boost mart share
KUALA LUMPUR: Mitsubishi Motors Malaysia Sdn Bhd, the official distributor of Mitsubishi vehicles, aims to boost its market share for full-sized sport utility vehicles (SUVs) from 5.8 per cent to around eight per cent.
"We is confident of achieving the target, especially with the launch of the enhanced Pajero Sport VGT and Pajero Sport GL," said head of product planning and marketing division, Felix Ng Khay Tian, here, yesterday.
Chief executive officer Tetsuya Oda said the Pajero Sport has been a success in Malaysia since its introduction locally in 2009.
"The company aims to sell 2,000 units this year, compared with 1,300 units last year.
"In total, we sold 12,600 vehicles during the 2012 financial year (FY12) We are looking at 15,000 units for FY13," he said.
The enhanced Mitsubishi Pajero Sport GL is priced at RM155,500 while the Pajero Sport VGT is priced at RM176,980. The prices are on-the-road, including insurance. Bernama
