Petronas unit posts net profit of RM843m

KUALA LUMPUR: Petronas Dagangan Bhd (PDB) posted RM843.27 million net profit for the financial year ended December 31 2012, compared with RM889.07 million net profit in the previous year.

During the period under review, revenue rose to RM29.5 billion from RM28.65 billion previously.

In a statement to Bursa Malaysia, PDB attributed the lower profit to a lower gross profit as a result of lower average selling price and the increase in operating expenditure.

For this year, the company has allocated about RM700 million for its capital expenditure.

PDB has declared an interim dividend of 17.5 sen per share and proposed a special dividend of 35 sen per share subject to shareholders' approval.
