Foreign holdings of govt bonds up
KUALA LUMPUR: Foreigners increased their holdings of government bonds in September, reversing four straight months of falls, according to data from Bank Negara Malaysia.
Their holdings were RM128.12 billion as at the end of September, compared with RM125.51 billion at end-August.
At the end of September, foreign holdings of Bank Negara bills and notes rose to RM59.63 billion from RM55.37 billion in August.
Foreign holdings of government-issued sukuk rose to RM2.67 billion in September from RM2.55 billion the previous month.
Non-Malaysian holdings of private sector debt rose to RM10.12 billion from RM10.08 billion. Reuters
