KLB CEO resigns to pursue own business
KUALA LUMPUR: Konsortium Logistik Bhd (KLB) yesterday announced the resignation of its chief executive officer and executive director, Datuk Che Azizuddin Che Ismail.
Che Azizuddin, who has been with the company for more than 17 years, cited his intention to pursue "personal business opportunities" as the reason for the resignation.
He was appointed executive director of KLB in 2007 before being appointed CEO on October 22, 2010 following the acquisition of a majority stake in the company by Ekuiti Nasional Bhd (Ekuinas).
He was responsible for overseeing the company's overall business development and corporate planning strategy.
KLB said in a statement yesterday that Che Azizuddin had been instrumental in the development of the company, especially in building its automotive logistics business into becoming the market leader.
Pending the appointment of a new CEO, Ekuinas managing partner of investment, Syed Yasir Arafat Syed Abd Kadir, will chair the executive committee of KLB.
Ekuinas director of investment, Zarihi Hashim, meanwhile, has been appointed as interim chief operating officer of KLB.
