Hong Kong: Down on China concerns
STOCKS fell 0.6 per cent yesterday despite a positive lead from Wall Street, as a series of disappointing earnings reports and lingering concerns over the Chinese economy weighed on sentiment.
The benchmark Hang Seng Index dipped 137.48 points to 22,698.34 on turnover of HK$62.55 billion.
A host of downbeat earnings reports dragged the market lower.
L'Occitane fell 6.2 per cent, Great Wall Motor tumbled seven per cent and Industrial Bank of China falling 1.3 per cent while China Construction Bank declined 1.2 per cent. AFP
