KUALA LUMPUR: Boon Siew Honda Sdn Bhd has expanded its Honda CB 500 Series of motorcycles with the introduction of the highly-anticipated CBR500R, CB500F and CB500X models.
Managing director and chief executive Satoshi Okada said the new series exemplify Honda's reputation in superior design and innovation, powerful performance and legendary durability and dependability.
"These mid-size machines are specially equipped with unique features and excellent value for money based on the platform - 'Designed for Asian, Developed for Malaysian'," he said in a statement.
Okada added that the supersport, naked style and adventure Sport models are ready to drive the market with greater value and motoring excitement.
The CBR500R is powered by a next generation 8-valve liquid-cooled twin-cylinder 500cc DOHC engine.
For riders looking to move up from a 250, or holding a B2 licence, the fully faired twin-cylinder provides an excellent first big sports bike experience, which will also appeal to experienced riders looking for a great value alternative to larger sports bikes.
Besides sheer performance, it affords riders with a level of comfort on par with its image. This comes in the form of Pro-Link rear suspension with preload-adjusted and 41mm telescopic front fork to ensure a comfortable, but sporty ride.
The CB500F is fitted with a Pro-Link rear suspension with 9-stage preload-adjuster and 41mm telescopic front forks.
The CB500X, on the other hand, has a relaxed, upright riding position with wide handlebars. Its lightweight maneuverability as well as excellent visibility ensure it works equally well in urban environment.
The standard prices for the CBR500R, CB500F and CB500X are RM28,588, RM28,288 and RM28,688, respectively. All series come with two years or 20,000km of manufacturing warranty.
