KUALA LUMPUR: Honda Malaysia Sdn Bhd has set new records in July sales with 8,780 bookings received and 6,039 units registered.
This was driven mainly by the newly-launched locally-assembled Jazz CKD Petrol, Jazz Hybrid, City and the CR-V 2.0-litre and 2.4-litre sports utility vehicles.
In terms of bookings, the City had the highest number of customers waiting (3,114), followed by the locally-assembled Jazz Petrol (1,434 bookings) and Jazz Hybrid (1,107 bookings).
In a statement yesterday, Honda Malaysia said customers today are experiencing a sentiment change when purchasing cars.
"Potential customers adopted a wait-and-see attitude in the run-up to the general election.
"However, the sentiment is now slowly improving."
The company hopes to drive sales through its attractive and value-for-money line-ups in the recovering market.
Honda Malaysia believes that it can continue the current good momentum for the rest of the year.
Currently, the company is establishing new dealerships in all major cities.
We plan to increase the number of dealers to 80 by the end of the year, which will help maintain the strong sales pace.
The strong dealership network will also ensure that customers' satisfaction is not neglected, it said in the statement.
