KUALA LUMPUR: UMW Toyota Motor Sdn Bhd was ranked first in the Sales Satisfaction Index (SSI) category of the J.D. Power Asia Pacific 2013 study recently.
"This is definitely an important milestone for UMW Toyota and absolutely an achievement for us this year," said UMW Toyota president Datuk Ismet Suki.
He contributed the achievement to UMW Toyota staff, especially the front-liners, who had been "working diligently to in exceed our customers' expectations".
The study was based on responses from 2,622 new-vehicle owners who bought their vehicles between August 2012 and April 2013.
It measured satisfaction with the sales and delivery experience at authorised dealers, fielded between February and June 2013.
It examined seven factors including delivery process, sales initiation, salesperson, paperwork, delivery timing, dealer facility, and deals that contribute to an overall customer satisfaction.
The result was tabulated as an index score based on a 1,000-point scale, with a higher overall score indicating a greater satisfaction with sales and delivery.
Ismet said the spirit of "Kaizen", or continuous improvement, which is part and parcel of the lives in UMW Toyota, has helped create more value in the business amid the increasing competition in the automotive industry.
"We are constantly listening and responding to our customers' wants and needs. UMW Toyota is committed towards our company's theme of 'One Team, Customer First' to deliver an enjoyable buying experience with Toyota," he added.
