RHB Islamic: 2 more branches in 2013
KUALA LUMPUR: RHB Islamic Bank Bhd aims to strengthen its domestic operations by opening two more branches in 2013, said managing director Abdul Rani Lebai Jaafar.
Currently, RHB Islamic has 14 branches nationwide.
He said the expansion plan was in line with the bank's strategy to expand operational footprint not only in the region but also in the international stage.
"We will continue to diligently focus on strengthening our capability and capacity building. We will also bolster our syariah governance as well as review technology infrastructure requirements," he said yesterday.
Abdul Rani said with all these efforts, RHB Islamic was expected to end the current year on a positive note.
"We are expecting our overall financing assets to grow by 28 per cent, deposits up 19.2 per cent and pre-tax profit to be at another commendable level," he said.
He said RHB Islamic has been working with Malaysian Technology Development Corp and Bumiputera Agenda Steering Unit to support the government's initiative to help the Bumiputera small- and medium-sized enterprises.
Abdul Rani said the bank has been appointed as one of the agents for Employees Provident Fund, National Higher Education Fund Board and Tabung Haji.
