Gold futures trading to be uncertain
Trading in gold futures contracts on Bursa Malaysia Derivatives are expected to be uncertain next week as investors are cautious that the US Federal Reserve (Fed) might start cutting its monetary stimulus soon.
A dealer said investors were likely to adopt a "wait-and-see" attitude next week, monitoring the developments in the US amid speculation the Fed would hold off tapering for a longer period.
However, he said, the market will be bullish, hoping that the Fed could maintain its quantitative easing programme into first quarter 2014.
For the week just-ended, 1,544 lots worth RM21.03 million were traded while open interest on Friday stood at 1,032 contracts.-- Bernama
