Maxis ties up with Spotify for mobile music
KUALA LUMPUR: Maxis Bhd, the first telecommunications firm in the country has teamed up with Spotify, the world's largest music streaming service to bring the world of music through the internet at anytime and anywhere on mobile devices at an irresistible price.
Maxis' Head of Digital Services T. Kugan said with music streaming already gaining rapid popularity and a big part of today's lifestyle, both companies have joined forces to bring the mobile music into a new era.
"At just RM10 per month, both prepaid and postpaid, Maxis customers can now have access to the Spotify Premium service, along with 150MB of Internet data to access Spotify's massive catalogue of over 20 million tracks available both online and offline," he said in a statement.
Kugan said the partnership with Spotify is poised to unlock even more value of mobile music for Maxis' customers who can now choose from millions of songs wherever they are.
Spotify, launched in Sweden in 2008, is an award-winning digital music service that gives on-demand access to over 20 million tracks.
"With smartphone penetration continuing to expand in the country, we are also seeing a surge in demand for music access on mobile devices.
