Ringgit opens lower against US dollar
KUALA LUMPUR: The ringgit opened lower against the US dollar today on profit taking after recent consolidation, dealers said. The ringgit was quoted at 3.1850/1880 against the greenback from Friday's 3.1785/1815.
A dealer said traders booked profit after the market increased 0.3 per cent last week, driven by positive sentiment from the US. However, against other major currencies, the ringgit was traded mixed.

The local currency fell against the British pound to 5.0844/0888 from 5.0746/0801 on Friday, but versus the euro it rose to 4.3160/3199 from 4.3102/3149 previously. -- BERNAMA
