Rabeanco to expand in Malaysia
GEORGE TOWN: The global expansion of affordable luxury leather bag brand Rabeanco, will see more stores open in Malaysia next year.
Hong Kong-based S&W Handbags Ltd, the brand's owner and principal expects up to seven stores to open in Malaysia next year in the Klang Valley and Penang.
"We would like to see between three and four Rabeanco stores in Kuala Lumpur and about two or three in Penang by next year," S & W Handbags director Andrew Ng told reporters at the opening of Rabeanco's second Malaysian store at the Gurney Paragon mall today.
Rabeanco's first store in Malaysia opened two years ago at the Pavilion shopping mall. Locally, the brand is represented by distributor Shea Venture Sdn Bhd.
The brand, which recently established its presence in California's Beverly Hills in the US, is present globally in Europe, China, Australia, Singapore, the Philippines, Taiwan and Hong Kong.
Ng said apart from Malaysia, Rabeanco is looking to add over 10 more stores in China where it currently has 24.
"Our entry into any market globally hinges on the quality of the location for our stores as we offer a prestigious yet affordable label," he said.
New markets being eyed for Rabeanco include Indonesia and the Middle East, Ng added.
Meanwhile, Shea Venture managing director Juliana Lim said a typical Rabeanco store in Malaysia would require some RM1 million investment.
"The opening of Rabeanco in Penang will play an important role in the fashion accessories market for consumers in the northern region," she added.
