Short-term rates to remain stable
Short-term interbank rates are expected to remain stable today as Bank Negara Malaysia (BNM) intervenes to absorb excess
liquidity from the financial system through various instruments.
The central bank estimated today's liquidity at RM27.374 billion in the conventional system and RM10.116 billion in Islamic funds.
BNM will call for five RM1 billion conventional money market tenders for seven days, 14 days, 21 days, 28 days and 61 days, respectively.
It will also call for a RM6.1 billion Al-Wadiah tender for five days to 92 days.
At 4pm, BNM will conduct an up to RM22.4 billion conventional overnight tender and RM4 billion Al-Wadiah overnight tender.-- Bernama
