Tin prices to hover US$22,500 to US$22,800
Tin prices on the Kuala Lumpur Tin Market (KLTM) are projected to move between US$22,500 and US$22,800 a tonne next week, a dealer said.
He said trading activity is expected to be limited due to tight supply from Indonesia.
"We expect less supply of tin in the market next week," he added.
For the week just ended, tin prices on the KLTM moved between US$22,500 and US$23,000 a tonne in tandem with fluctuations on the London Metal Exchange (LME).
Weekly turnover increased to 217 lots from 169 lots last week, with European, Japanese and local buyers dominating the market.
The price differential between the KLTM and the LME narrowed to a premium of US$525 per tonne from US$535 per tonne last Friday.
Meanwhile, the market will be closed on Monday for the Malaysia Day public holiday and will resume trading on Tuesday.-- Bernama
