AirAsia increases flights to Padang

AirAsia is offering additional frequencies from Kuala Lumpur to Padang, Indonesia from 10 times weekly to 14 times.

In a statement today, AirAsia said the additional frequencies, effective March 29, will provide guests with more choices for flight timings, as there will now be two flights daily for this route.

"The current flight departs at 7.50am from KL and arrives in Padang at 8am local time (9am Malaysian time), while the new, additional flight departs Kuala Lumpur at 1.25pm and arrives in Padang at 1.30pm local time," it said.

To celebrate the increase in flights, AirAsia said it will offer a special all-in low fares from RM79 one way from Kuala Lumpur to Padang and guests will be able to book online from today until March 24, 2013 for travel period from March 21–June
15, 2013.



AirAsia commercial director, Kenny Wong, said the company currently operated 290 weekly flights one way from Malaysia to 15 destinations in Indonesia.

"We are committed to growing this market and this additional frequency is a big convenience boost as it gives our guests better flight time options for their travel plans –- whether it is for business or leisure," he said.

The 15 destinations in Indonesia which AirAsia flies to are Balikpapan, Banda Aceh, Bandung, Jakarta, Bali, Yogyakarta, Lombok, Medan, Padang, Pekanbaru, Palembang, Solo, Semarang, Surabaya and Makassar.-- Bernama
