The tin price on the Kuala Lumpur Tin Market (KLTM) today ended unchanged at yesterday's closing price of US$23,750 a tonne amid a quiet market, a dealer said.

He said the market was very steady despite the uptrend on the London Metal Exchange (LME), which saw the price increase by US$65 to US$23,950 a tonne.

"The buyers were cautious as they wanted to see how the LME fares today," the dealer told Bernama.

On the local front, bids and offers each stood at 41 tonnes, with demand coming from the Japanese, Europeans and local traders.

Turnover was slightly lower at 41 tonnes, from 43 tonnes yesterday, while the price differential between the KLTM and the LME narrowed to US$230 a tonne from US$295 a tonne previously.-- Bernama
