The ringgit closed higher against the US dollar Friday, rebounded from yesterday's losses in tandem with gains in the
local bourse, supported by upbeat sentiments in global markets, dealers said.

The ringgit was quoted at 3.1045/1065 for a US dollar against 3.1070/1090 yesterday.

Dealers said the overnight rally in the US stocks with improved US job market helped fuel sentiments in Asia's currency markets.

Against other major currencies, the ringgit was traded lower against the Singapore dollar at 2.4924/4942 from 2.4906/4926 yesterday but rose against the yen to 3.2508/2546 from 3.3071/3106 Thursday.

The local currency was traded higher against the British pound at
4.6568/6604 from 4.6574/6616 Thursday and was lower against the euro at 4.0632/0664 from 4.0466/0498 yesterday.-- Bernama
