Media Prima announces new appointments
Media Prima Bhd has appointed Datuk Kamal Khalid as the group shared services chief operating officer effective March 1.
The media giant has also appointed Ahmad Izham Omar and Shareen Ooi Bee Hong as television networks chief executive officer and group chief marketing officer, respectively, effective on the same date as Kamal.
The appointments are to position the group to face future challenges and improve operational efficiencies, Media Prima said in a statement today.
It said Kamal, in his new role, will oversee business development, engineering services, airtime management, research, stakeholder management and regulatory affairs, group corporate
communications, content acquisition and pay channels (which includes subscription-based EMAS Channel).
Media Prima said Ahmad Izham's appointment brings extensive experience to the job -- he was appointed chief executive officer of 8TV in 2003, chief executive officer of Radio Networks in 2006 and chief executive officer of New Media in 2009 before being appointed as chief operating officer, television networks and chief executive officer of Primeworks Studios in 2011.
"In his new role, he will lead and oversee the group's four free-to-air stations, namely TV3, 8TV, ntv7 and TV9," it said.
Media Prima said Shareen's appointment will entail her overseeing and coordinating integrated marketing and group sales.
"This appointment will enable Lam Swee Kim, the current head of integrated marketing, to fully focus on expanding the group's digital business in her existing capacity as group general manager of MPB Digital," it added.-- Bernama
