Naza Italia Sdn Bhd is in talks with Italian luxury carmaker, Maserati, to expand the luxury car segment in the Asia Pacific region.

Naza Group Joint Group Executive Chairman and Chief Executive Officer Datuk Wira SM Faisal SM Nasimuddin said the company was very committed to collaborate with the Italian car maker for the brand’s expansion plan in the country and region.

Faisal said the Naza Group, which has good relations and support from the Italian car manufacturer, was confident of working together to facilitate the regional expansion.

"We are very open with them, they look at us as the younger version of the Anguly Dynasty, they are talking to us on how we can work together in expanding within the region.

"We have been in talks with them on several projects," he told Bernama.

Among the product line-up under Maserati this year include the Quattroporte limousine, Ghibli sedan and GranCabrio Sport.

Maserati recently confirmed the production of the Maserati Levante luxury SUV which will be manufactured in Turin beginning 2014.

Back home, to support the sales and service of Maserati and Ferrari vehicles in Malaysia, Naza Italia is building what will be the biggest showroom and service centre for the brands in Asia and, perhaps, even the world outside Italy.-- Bernama
