MAS: RM199 nett for travel to Singapore

MALAYSIA Airlines(MAS) launched today its One Price, All Seats, All Flights online promotion.

The airline is offering a one-way economy class fare of RM199 nett for travel on all flights from Malaysia to Singapore.

MAS reduced its all-in normal fares to Kuala Lumpur by more than 60 per cent to stimulate travel demand and to encourage more travellers to choose its services.

Its senior general manager, sales, Bernard Francis said the move was about giving customers more choices and value for their money.

“We are offering nett fares which are all inclusive, meaning what you see is what you pay. It’s not like low cost carriers where, even if there are offers of free seats, you still need to tally up the bill which can include baggage handling fees, priority boarding, administration fees and others.

“At the end of the day, when you compare the total, travelling on MAS might be cheaper or just slightly more, making us the best travel choice as we are a full service provider,” he said in a statement today.

MAS also dropped its fares for flights from Langkawi, Penang, Kuching and Kota Kinabalu to Singapore, offering similar RM199 nett one-way economy class fares.

This represents a reduction of up to 72 per cent of the lowest normal online fares for the routes.

“Normally, airlines increase their air fares in December as it is a peak travel month. We are doing the exact opposite in offering the lowest online fare on all the routes between Malaysia and Singapore.

“We therefore encourage customers to take advantage of our best deals and plan their travels to Singapore,” Bernard said.

Online bookings are accepted from Nov 15-December 24 this year and for all flights except MH 601, 602 and 617 from Singapore.

Booking for travel must be made at least seven days in advance. All travel must be completed by the end of the year. — Bernama
