UEM reshuffles management

UEM Group Bhd yesterday announced changes in several senior management posts as well as new appointments at its headquarters and operating companies.


Tajul Azwa Bani Hashim, who joined the group in 1989, has been appointed as chief operating officer (COO) of PLUS Expressways Bhd.

He was Projek Penyelenggaraan Lebuhraya Bhd (PROPEL) former chief executive officer (CEO), which undertakes maintenance works of major highways in the country.

Razin Ghazali, who has 22 years experience in the engineering and construction sector, has been appointed as COO of UEM Builders Bhd.

Ramlan Abdul Rahman, previously Pharmaniaga Bhd's senior general manager of finance, was named chief financial officer at UEM Builders.


Nik Airina Nik Jaffar, who served PLUS for nine years including four years as its COO, will lead Opus Group Bhd which specialises in project management and consultancy.

Edward A. Sutton has been appointed as UEM Land Holdings Bhd director of strategic marketing.

Suhaimi Halim, former managing director of Opus Group, has been named managing director-designate of the Asset & Facility Management group of companies.

He will also be interim CEO of PROPEL.

Muhinder Singh, ex-COO of Opus Group, has been named as country head for Indian operations.

UEM said the appointments will help support the group's ambition of raising its regional presence.
