Edaran Tan Chong Motor Sdn Bhd (ETCM) has unveiled the six-speed manual transmission Navara as an addition to the Navara five-speed auto transmission.

Touted as the "Mother of all Trucks" in Malaysia, the Navara has achieved a high degree of market acceptance.

It is recognised as the most powerful sports utility truck (SUT) in terms of maximum torque and horsepower since its launch in November 2008.

On top of garnering several prestigious awards across the world, the Navara was recently named best pick-up truck by Autocar Asean Car of The Year Awards 2009 in Malaysia.

The new Navara variant is equipped with a six-speed manual transmission that is smoother and more positive in feel, giving more precise and satisfying gear engagement.

It also incorporates a 'tall' final drive ratio to improve fuel efficiency.

The truck features a "Shift-on-the-Fly" four-wheel drive (4WD) system, which is electronically-controlled and a Limited Slip Differential (LSD).

The LSD enables shifting between 2WD and 4WD with the use of a dial without having to stop the vehicle as long as it travels at less than 100km/h.

The SUT is fully imported and manufactured as a completely built-up unit from Nissan Motor Thailand.

Comes in two variants, the Navara 2.5L sells at RM89,800, while the Navara 2.5L SE costs RM94,800.
