Sri Sutra Travel group managing director Datuk Syed Mohd Razif Syed Yasin said the group has identified 32 locations including one each in Sabah and Sarawak and will start franchising its business soon to applicants with a minimum of three years of working experience in the industry.
"The franchise fee is RM200,000 including a one off premium fee of RM25,000 to us. We will set up the office, install the systems and also train the staff for six months under the franchise," he said at the launch of the franchise yesterday along with the memorandum of understanding signed with Amadeus GDS (Malaysia) Sdn Bhd, a renowned worldwide integrated system booking supplier.
He also said that the company is planning to go for listing in three years.
Also present at the launch was Domestic Trade, Cooperative and Consumerism Minister Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob who said the government under the Ninth Malaysian Plan has a target to create 1,000 franchisees and about 50 Bumiputera franchisors by the end of 2010.
