FedEx enhances services to Romania

 

FedEx Express, a subsidiary of FedEx Corp, has introduced a series of service enhancements that will allow customers to access Timisoara, Romania's fastest growth area, within one to three business days.

The enhancements would also rapidly reduce outbound transit times for customers based in Timisoara, improving delivery times to Europe and Asia by one business day.

At no extra cost to customers, the new service enhancement will integrate seamlessly into existing FedEx Express service, providing added value to clients.

Aimed at strengthening the FedEx Express service proposition in Eastern Europe, the new enhancements will improve transit times by up to two business days for inbound packages, expedited via new customs clearance capability at Romania's Timisoara airport.

Shipments from key European countries will now arrive by the next business day, with shipments from the US and key business centres across Asia - such as Hong Kong, Malaysia, Singapore or Shanghai arriving within three business days.

"As a leader in facilitating trade between Asia and Europe, FedEx has been focused on strengthening this important connection for our customers," said David L Cunningham Jr, president, Asia Pacific FedEx Express, in a statement last week.

"Expanding FedEx service offering to fast growing, emerging markets like Romania will provide our customers in the region with the reliability they need to access new trade opportunities and grow their business globally."

FedEx has also enhanced its service offer for heavy weight shipments between 68kg and 1,000kg.

These changes serve to strengthen FedEx's service offering in one of Eastern Europe's emerging markets, allowing customers to enjoy improved access for their shipping needs between Romania, the rest of Europe and the world.
