TM Asia bundles insurance with bereavement product
The package caters for young people who want to grab the opportunity for a good piece of burial plot in Kedah and a possible good investment return, says the insurer
JAPANESE life insurance company TM Asia Life Malaysia Bhd, in collaboration with bereavement provider Nian En Memorial Park Sdn Bhd, yesterday launched bereavement product packaged with TM Asia Life Single Premium Investment-Linked plan.
TM Asia Life Malaysia Bhd, formerly known as Asia Life (M) Bhd, has established its presence in Malaysia for more than 60 years.
TM Asia Life Malaysia deputy chief executive officer Jun Tokura said the product called “The Abode of Boundless Gratitude Insurance Package” provides life coverage and attractive maturity returns.
“This is a breakthrough product comprising after-life planning, good investment planning and life protection,” he said after the launch.
Jun said the package caters for young people who want to grab the opportunity for a good piece of burial plot in Kedah and a possible good investment return.
Jun said TM Asia Life Insurance is targeting a RM500 million revenue for this product over five years.
The investors, he said, stand to gain from the potential appreciation of the burial plot and performance on the underlying investment-linked policy managed by professional fund managers of TM Asia Life.
“Besides projected attractive capital gains, this package also offers life protection against death and total and permanent disablement,” he said.
Should the unfortunate happen, the burial plot, he said, is deemed to be free of charge as the death benefit will equal the price for the plot.
Nian En Memorial Park chief executive officer Dr Cheng Joo An said graveyards should not be branded as fearful or horror places as had always been depicted in horror movies.
“Today modern graveyards are environmental-friendly places with beautiful plants. This is what our afterlife garden in Nian En Memorial Park is offering,” he added. — Bernama
