KUALA LUMPUR: Honda Malaysia Sdn Bhd announced its sales in July hit 5,045 units, the highest monthly record in the company's history.

This was an impressive recovery from the production halt due to the Thailand floods last year.

"Despite the setback due to natural disasters in Japan and Thailand last year, the company got down to business and used the period to plan its future investment and expansion," said Yoichiro Ueno, managing director and chief executive officer of Honda Malaysia in a statement.

The company introduced eight new models this year - Jazz Hybrid, face-lifted City, CR-Z CVT, New Freed S, face-lifted Insight, All-New Civic, Civic Hybrid and New Jazz S.

"The robust record sales was especially led by the New City and the All-New Civic. The newly face-lifted City has recorded sales of 2,217 units, accounting for 44 per cent of the total sales for July," the company said. Bernama
