TOKYO: Citigroup Inc says it will begin growing again in Japan with four new retail banking branches this year.
The openings mark the banking giant’s first expansion since unloading several Japanese assets in the wake of the global financial crisis.
The first two locations will open in the second quarter in the cental Tokyo districts of Marunouchi and Nihonbashi, Citibank Japan Ltd said.
Details of the other two branches have not been released. — AP
