Upgraded Peugeot 308 Turbo set for end-July debut

NASIM Sdn Bhd, distributor of Peugeot cars in Malaysia, is introducing an upgraded version of the popular 308 Turbo from end-July.

Most prominently, the Peugeot 308 Turbo will have a full-length panaromic athermic glass roof which offers an unobstructed view of the sky. In daylight, the car provides a one-touch full-length sun-blind.

The 308 Turbo, selling at RM113,888 on-the-road, will be the only car in its class to offer the feature.

To ensure comfort for its occupants, the car is equipped with a dual zone digital air conditioner and additional rear air conditioning vents while the panoramic glass roof provides for the airy open feel of a convertible, without the dust, heat and pollution.

The 308 Turbo’s International Engine of the Year Award-winning 1.6-litre direct injection turbo petrol engine designed by PSA Peugeot Citroën in cooperation with BMW Group has an output of 240Nm of torque from just 1,400 rpm and 140hp at 6,000 rpm.
The latest win was the third in a row for Peugeot in these prestigious awards. The 308 was also the winner of the prestigious Golden Lenkrad 2007 award in Germany for the best compact car based on its design, comfort, safety and environmental friendliness. It was also the AMI New Zealand Autocar Car of the Year 2008 in its category.

Nasim said in a statement that the latest 308 Turbo strengthens its customer appeal by combining performance with economy.
