THE Naza Group has named SM Nasarudin SM Nasimuddin as its executive chairman and chief executive officer.

Nasarudin is the son of Naza Group's founder, the late Tan Sri SM Nasimuddin SM Amin. Nasimuddin passed away in the US early this month due to cancer.

Nasarudin's appointment was made in a statement issued by Nasimuddin's widow, Puan Seri Zaleha Ismail yesterday.

The Naza Group which started as and still is a motor trading company, is now involved in a wide array of other businesses including motorcycles, manufacturing, transport services, properties, hotel operations and insurance.

The group is the franchise holder for Ferrari, South Korea's Kia, Peugeot, Brabus, Hamann and Ducati motorbikes in Malaysia. It also holds the import permits for Mercedes-Benz and Mazda vehicles
