GENTING International plc’s unit, Resorts World at Sentosa Pte Ltd, has teamed up with Sentosa Leisure Management Pte Ltd to form a joint venture, DCP (Sentosa) Pte Ltd.

In a statement yesterday, Genting said the 80-20 joint-venture would build and operate a district cooling plant to supply piped chilled water for the air-conditioning and other cooling requirements of the integrated resort being developed by Resorts World on Sentosa Island.

“Excess capacity from the district cooling plant will be sold to other users on Sentosa Island,” said.

The transaction is not expected to have any material impact on the consolidated net tangible assets and earnings per share of the company for the financial year ending December 31, 2008, said Genting. — Bernama
