POS Malaysia Bhd is considering the introduction of an online rebate payment system for the convenience of the public.

Operations chief Mearia Hamzah said it is in discussion with several parties involved, such as the road transport department, to introduce the system.

“We will make an announcement in a month or two on the matter,” she told reporters at an appreciation event for the media and organisations involved with rebate distribution yesterday.

Mearia said the online rebate distribution would be a more flexible service as people need not queue at the post office.

Since June 14 till Thursday, Pos Malaysia has distributed RM1.068 billion in cash rebates to 2.374 million vehicle owners or 72 per cent of those eligible, from April to July. — Bernama
